Arik Airlines Nigeria Review, Flight, Office, Check In

Arik Airlines Now known as Nigeria’s premium airline, Arik Air was first launched in 2002 after its founder, Sir Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide, noticed a gap in the market for a reliable and efficient carrier to transport business people across the country.

For the first six years, the airline operated exclusively in Nigeria, launching its first international route to Accra, Ghana in 2008 and its second to Johannesburg, South Africa in 2009. After this, a string of additional African routes was added, and more recently, flights to London and New York as well.

Arik Air is committed to efficiency and managing customer commitments across all fronts. Arik Air Booking

Arik Air has recently partnered with Qatar to get you to your international destination effortlessly. Travellers residing outside of Lagos wishing to travel with Qatar may now book their combined ticket on Arik Air and connect in Lagos to any of Qatar’s 150 destinations across the world.

Arik Airline History

Arik Air ( the largest Nigerian based airline since 2002, needs no introduction to the travel market and consistently lives up to its slogan “wings of Africa”. Those looking to fly internationally to Lagos or between any Nigerian airports will find that Arik Air offers affordable travel, safely and conveniently. It competes with the likes of Air Peace, Dana Air and Aero Contractors in the domestic market, and also faces competition from international airlines when flying beyond Nigeria’s borders

The airline is one of Nigeria’s most recognised export brands, yet was also hardest hit by recent aviation fuel shortages experienced at Lagos and Abuja International Airports, in particular. While the airline has often been at the centre of controversy in recent years, the airline is working hard to turn its financial and operational situation around. Reputable media outlets have also confirmed that the FG is currently renegotiating a management contract for Arik Air with Ethiopian Airlines.

The introduction of a new mobile platform in 2013 enhanced traveller experience offering ease of access to special offers, bookings and online payment options. The Arik Affinity Wings frequent flyer programme can also be easily enrolled for online. Frequent flyers can earn miles on trips which can be converted to discounts and savings.

The airline, which is wholly owned and operated by Ojemai Investments, took over the old Nigeria Airways facilities in Lagos in April 2006. Starting out with a handful of domestic routes, Arik Air worked hard to earn its reputation in the industry and by early 2008 had added international routes to its schedule.
