Ibom Air officially launched commercial flight operations between Lagos (MMA2) Abuja and Uyo. Find out more about this airline below, or compare flight prices and book Nigerian domestic flights using the above flight booking form.The new state owned airline received its Air Operator Certificate from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority in early June, and will be operating regular scheduled flights using a fleet of 3 Bombardier CRJ 900s.
Lufthansa Technik was also approached regarding the running of the maintenance and repair operations (MRO) for the airline.
While the airline will only fly to Abuja and Lagos from Iyo upon launch, the Depute State Governer is on record saying that his government plans to leverage Akwa Ibom State’s geographical location to turn Uyo into a regional hub, with flights eventually offered to Congo São Tomé & Príncipe, Equatorial Guinea and Angola.
